Mammootty Back With Police Role

Mammootty, the actor who is busy with some promising projects, is all set to essay a police role in his next movie. The movie will mark the directorial debut of Renji Panicker's son, Nithin.

Unlike his earlier police roles, which were highly intense in nature, Mammootty will essay an interesting police character in the untitled movie, which is said to be a comical thriller.

If the reports are to be believed, popular Bollywood actress Tabu will essay the female lead opposite Mammootty in the movie. Nithin Panicker himself pens the script for the movie, which is produced by Anto Joseph and Renji Panicker.

Nithin Panicker, who is an MBA graduate, has earlier assisted some popular filmmakers of Malayalam movie industry, including his father Renji Panicker and Shaji Kailas.

The aspiring filmmaker plans to adapt a movie making style, which will be entirely different from the his father's style. The star kid has no plans to direct an action movie in near future; and wants to experiment with different genres.

Renji Panicker has earlier directed Mammootty in Roudram, which was a police story. The actor-scenarist has also penned some blockbuster Mammootty starrer movies, including The King, Dubai, The King And The Commissioner etc.
