It was a typical arranged marriage for Mammootty and Sulfath, who entered wedlock in 1979. The actor did his first film immediately after his marriage and emerged as the busiest actor of Malayalam cinema, within a couple of years.
The actor has always stated that Sulfath is his best friend and the only female friend in his life. Mammootty, who is known as a complete family person, has always been vocal about his deep attachment with family. The actor has always remarked that marriage made him more grounded and kept him stable so far.
