No Sequel For Mohanlal's Grandmaster

Mohanlal starrer Grandmaster will not have a sequel. Director B Unnikrishnan slammed the rumours regarding the sequel in a recent interview. Recently, a film magazine had reported that Mohanlal-Unnikrishnan duo is planning for Grandmaster 2.

According B Unnikrishnan, he was misquoted during an interview. He is all set to direct Mohanlal in his upcoming movie; but it is not the sequel of Grandmaster. It will be an out-and-out action thriller based on a fresh subject.

A popular young actor of Malayalam movie industry will be playing a pivotal role in the movie. More details regarding Mohanlal's character and the plot are yet to be revealed.

The reports regarding Grandmaster 2 has been doing rounds since last few weeks. The news was a great surprise for the Mohanlal fans, who are eager to watch their favourite star back onscreen with another blockbuster.

Mr Fraud, the last association of Mohanlal and B Unnikrishnan was critical and commercial disaster. Both the actor and director are badly in need of a box office success. Mohanlal's last few films have miserably failed to impress.

The actor is currently filming for the upcoming Padmakumar movie Kanal, which also stars Anoop Menon in the lead role. He has completed the filming of Ranjith's new flick Loham.
