Rani Padmini On October 23

Rani Padmini, the upcoming women-centric movie which stars Manju Warrier and Rima Kallingal in the lead roles, will hit the theatres on October 23rd, Vijayadashami day. The movie is directed by Aashiq Abu.

Rima Kallingal and Manju Warrier will essay the title roles, Rani and Padmini respectively. The movie is a thriller, which revolves around two women, who travel to Kochi with two different missions and the incidents which interlinks them.

The movie, which develops through a journey, was shot at various locations of Kochi, Ottappalam, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh. Rani Padmini will be one of the rare women-centric multi-starrer movies, in the history of Malayalam cinema.

Reportedly, Rani Padmini does not have a male lead. Young actor Shine Tom Chacko is playing the an important male. Sreenath Bhasi, Sajitha Madathil, Soubin Shaheer, Jinu Joseph, Dileesh Pothan, Theertha Vinod etc essay the supporting roles.

The movie is jointly penned by Syam Pushkaran and Ravi Shakar. The writers has recently revealed that the movie will discuss the issues faced by women and importance of ensuring the safety for the women, who travel alone.

Madhu Neelakandan is the director of photography. Bijibal composes the music. The movie is produced by PM Harris and VS Muhamed Althaf under the banner Fort Entertainments.
