Shruthi Haasan, the busy bee of South Indian movie industry, is reprising the character Malar, played by Sai Pallavi, in the Telugu remake of Premam. The locations stills have been going viral on social media.

However, Malayali audiences and the other language audiences who have watched the original movie, are not in a mood to accept Shruti Haasan the new Malar. It is evident from the way how Shruti has been trolled by the social media.

It is true that the first look of Shruti as Malar is quite disappointing. The team has decided to give the character a modern look; to the much displeasure of the audiences who are still deeply in love with the character.

Malar is a character which is truly special in all means. Interestingly, the character was kept as a secret till the release Premam, and the team hasn't even included the name of Sai Pallavi in the star cast before the release.

It is the surprise element which made the character more and more special. But in the Telugu version, the team has already announced the entire star cast and chose not to keep any of the surprise elements from the original.

The fans point out that Shruti cannot match the graceful, earthy looks and mannerisms of the character, as she is an already established glam diva. They argue that the actress is also a great disappointment when it comes to the acting skills.

Naga Chaitanya plays the central character, which is essayed by Nivin Pauly in the original. Anupama Parameshwaran reprises her role in the remake as well. Regina Cassandra is replacing Madonna Sebastian.

Even though the Malayali fans are unhappy with the casting of Premam remake, it is sure that the theme of the movie is vibrant enough to attract audiences from all languages. We have to wait and watch how Shruti deals with the challenge...
