The year 2016, has been a good one for the Malayalam film industry, so far. The past three quarters have yielded good results for the industry, with a good number of hits to its credit.
With the year entering its last quarter, Mollywood is also looking up to some promising Malayalam movies. Audiences are also eagerly awaiting for some exciting movies, which would hit the theatres soon.
So, here we list the 11 Malayalam movies to look forward for, in the last 3 months of 2016. Take a look.
Puli Murugan
Mohanlal's Puli Murugan is one of the biggest releases of this year. After many postponements, the film would finally hit the theatres on October 7, 2016. The makers are planning for a big release.
Thoppil Joppan
Mammootty's Thoppil Joppan is gearing up to hit the theatres during the month of October. There are reports that the film would hit the theatres on October 7, 2016 but there has not been any confirmation regarding the same.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol
Mohanlal starrer Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, directed by Jibu Jacob is gearing up to hit the theatres later this year. Earlier the film was planned as a Christmas release but now according to the reports, the film would hit the theatres on November 4, 2016.
Ore Mukham
Ore Mukham has Dhyan Sreenivasan in an all new avatar. The film directed by Sajith Jagadnandam, reportedly is in the lines of a thriller. The film would hit the theatres this year but nothing has been confirmed about the exact releasing date of the film.
Nivin Pauly-Siddhartha Siva Movie
Nivin Pauly would be next seen in Sidhartha Siva's upcoming film in which the actor would don the role of student political leader. The second schedule of the film has begun in Kottayam and the movie is expected to hit the theatres in November or December.
Ezra
Prithviraj's next in Malayalam is a horror thriller directed by Jayakrishnan. Titled as Ezra, the film also has Tovino Thomas and Priya Anand in important roles. Ezra is being planned as a Christmas release of this year.
Georgettan's Pooram
Georgettan's Pooram is Dileep's upcoming comedy entertainer in which the actor would be seen in the role of a 'Thrissurkkaran'. The shoot of the film is currently progressing and is expected to hit the theatres during Christmas season.
The Great Father
Mammootty is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film The Great Father, which marks the directorial debut of Haneef Adeni. Produced by August Cinema, the film would hit the theatres in the month of December.
Jomonte Suvisheshangal
Jomonte Suvisheshangal is Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming film directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. The shooting of the film is currently progressing in Thrissur. The movie is being planned as a Christmas release of this year.
Fukri
Fukri is director Siddique's upcoming film, which also marks his debut as a producer. The film has Jayasurya in the lead role. The shoot of the film has commenced and the movie is expected to hit the theatres in December.
Mammootty and Mohanlal have two more films each, slated for release later this year. That definitely is a good news for all the fans of the Big Ms.
Most of the films listed above are expected to hit the theatres as scheduled. Apart from the above films, Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming film directed by Amal Neerad was also expected to hit the theatres in 2016. But, owing to the shooting delays, the makers have postponed the release date of the film to next year.
Nivin Pauly-Althaf team's Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela, is also expected to hit the theatres during Christmas season, but no confirmations have been received regarding the same.
