The chances of sequels to turn out to be as good as the prequels, are pretty less or at least, that has been the way the sequels of Malayalam films have turned out to be, so far.
But still, there is no denying the fact that we all love to watch sequels of films, which we loved to the core. Here are some upcoming sequels of Malayalam films, which are expected to happen.

Midhun Manuel Thomas has confirmed that the sequel to Aadu is on, and that would be his next directorial venture. Tentatively titled as Shaji Pappan, the film is touted to be an out-and-out entertainer, like its prequel.
CID Moosa 2
Rumours were rife that the second part of CID Moosa would happen soon. Even though, no official confirmation has come from the makers, there are certain reports that in all likeliness, such a project would materialize.
There are reports doing the rounds that Nithin Renji Panicker is all set to direct the sequel to Lelam. Interestingly, the film would have its script written by actor-writer Renji Panicker.
S N Swami had earlier confirmed that he is working on the fifth part of the CBI series. K Madhu would be directing the film and Mammootty would be once again seen as Sethuramayyar.
Adi Kapyaare Kootamani 2
Adi Kapyare Kootamani was a big success at the box office, that the makers announced the sequel to the project immediately after the release of the prequel. The same team is expected to come back for the project.
Valayar Paramasivam, the character from Runway is expected to make a comeback soon. The film would be directed by Joshiy and once again, Dileep would be seen in a mass hero role.
Honey Bee 2
Lal Jr is gearing up for the sequel of his hit film Honey Bee, which released in the year 2013. Titled as Honey Bee 2, the sequel would have almost all the actors from the prequel.
In fact, only 4 films from the above list have been officially confirmed. Aadu 2,CBI 5, Honey Bee 2 and Adi Kapyaare Kootamani 2 are the films, which have been officially confirmed by the makers.
Interestingly, Aadu, which had Jayasurya in the lead role, wasn't a big success at the theatres. But, with the release of DVDs, the film went on to attain a cult status and the demand for the sequel increased.
Making a sequel to a popular film always assures a good opening for the film in concern. But, it is a tough task in front of the film-makers to maintain the same standard and quality.
Well, we hope that these upcoming sequels of Malayalam films would be as good as their prequels and recreate the same magic.
