A Dull Christmas For Malayalam Film Industry

Well, it was rather a dull Christmas for the Malayalam film industry, with no Malayalam films hitting the theatres. The meeting between Producers Association and Exhibitors Federation didn't bring out any positive result and the strike still holds on. Jomonte Suvisheshangal, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Fukri, Ezra etc., were the movies expected to hit the theatres during this Christmas.

Oppam Remake To Feature Ajay Devgn In The Lead

Speculations were rife regarding the Bollywood remake of Mohanlal starrer Oppam. Now, here is an interesting update on the same. Priyadarshan will be directing the Bollywood version of the movie and Ajay Devgn would reprise the role done by Mohanlal in the original.

Pulimurugan's Rare Achievement

Pulimurugan, which recently completed 75 days in Kerala theatres, has now made a new record. The film has reportedly found a place in the Top 10 highest grossing Indian movies of 2016. The film still holds on to 90 centres in Kerala, even after 75 days, making it the first Malayalam film to do so.

Careful Is V K Prakash's Next

V K Prakash is all set with his next directorial venture. The director will helm a movie titled as Carfeul and the film would have its script written by Rajesh Jayaraman. Carfeul will feature Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese, Vineeth Kumar, Saiju Kurup etc., in important roles and the movie will also mark the comeback of actress Jomol.

Veteran actor Jagannatha Varma, breathed his last on December 20, 2016. He had made a mark in the film industry as a supporting actor and has acted in more than 400 Malayalam films, in a career spanning over 35 years.

Nivin Pauly And Johnpaul George To Team Up

Johnpaul George, who impressed one and all with his debut directorial venture Guppy is all set to team up with Nivin Pauly. Reportedly, the film will be produced by renowned cinematographer Sameer Thahir.
