The story of Welcome To Central Jail revolves around a guy named Unni, who admits to an offense done by another person and goes to jail to save the latter. For Unni, Jail is like a campus with full of fun and enjoyment. Dileep portrays the role of Unni.

The film has an ensemble star cast comprising of actors like Kalabhavan Shajon, Aju Varghese, Hareesh Perumanna, Balachandran Chullikkad, Sudheer etc. in prominent roles. Vedhika does the female lead in the film.

Welcome To Central Jail has been directed by Sundar Dass, who has earlier associated with Dileep for films like Sallapam, Kuberan, Varnakazhchakal etc. In fact, it was the film Sallapam that provided the actor a big break in his career. The film has its script written by Benny P Nayarambalam.

The movie produced by Vaishakh Rajan is expected to hit the theatres during the Onam season.
