the
film.
Veeram,
directed
by
Jayaraj,
is
all
set
to
be
screened
at
the
inaugural
BRICS
film
festival.
The
film
festival,
which
is
scheduled
to
start
on
September
2,
2016,
would
screen
films
from
various
countries
like
Brazil,
South
Africa,
Russia
and
China.
Veeram
is
scheduled
to
be
screened
on
the
opening
day
of
the
film
festival,
i.e.,
on
September
2,
2016.
The
film,
which
has
been
simultaneously
made
in
Malayalam,
Hindi
and
English,
has
Bollywood
actor
Kunal
Kapoor
in
the
lead
role.
The
actor
would
be
seen
in
the
role
of
a
warrior
named
Chandu,
a
character
which
is
based
on
Kerala
folklore.
The
actor
did
learn
Kalari
Payattu
for
the
effective
portrayal
of
the
character.
Veeram,
which
has
been
made
under
a
huge
budget
has
many
big
names
in
the
technical
department.
The
film
is
loosely
based
on
William
Shakespeare's
play
Macbeth.
Director
Jayaraj's
previous
film
Ottaal
did
win
wide
appreciations
at
various
international
film
festivals
and
it
also
won
the
best
movie
award
at
IFFK
2015.
Veeram
is
the
fifth
installment
of
Jayaraj
in
the
Navarasa
series.
He
has
earlier
made
films
with
the
title
Shantham,
Karunam,
Bheebatsam,
Athbhutham.
