Considering the fact that the film industry is more about glitz and glamour, it wouldn't be wrong for one to think that the actors won't be ready to go de-glam for films. But, it hasn't been the case with Malayalam film industry, where our lead actors have opted to go de-glam to look cent-percent convincing as a character.

Dileep In Kunjikoonan
Well, Kunjikoonan had Dileep in dual roles and the actor had to shed his glamour for the character named Kunjan, who is a hunchback in the movie. Without any qualms, the actor did so and the result was a pretty good one.
Jayasurya In Trivandrum Lodge
Jayasurya is one such Malayalam actor, who is ready to undergo any kind of change, for a character that demands it. In the 2012 film Trivandrum Lodge, the actor portrayed the role of a guy who is low in self-esteem. The actor opted for a complete image makeover by going de-glam.
Revathi In Kakkothikaavile Apooppanthaadikal
Revathi acted in Kakkothikkavile Apooppan Thaadikal during the peak time of her acting career. She got to play the lead role in this film, which the actress did with perfection. The actress had to play the role of a gypsy girl and hence had to go de-glam.
Bhavana In Nammal

Reportedly, Prithviraj would be sporting an entirely different look for his upcoming film Aadujeevitham. In fact, the character that he is set to play for the film, would definitely demand the actor to go de-glam for the film.
