The Kerala assembly elections was held on May 16, 2016. Most of our Malayalam celebrities made it a point to be present at the polling booths to cast their votes.

Facebook was flooded with selfies of stars posting their selfies after casting their valuable votes. Take a look at few of them.

Actors like Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan came to cast their votes and it brought in immediate attention of various medias.

More importantly, various film celebrities took up the responsibility of inspiring others to vote. They took to various social medias asking others to make use of the opportunity to vote.

Young superstar Dulquer Salmaan took to Facebook to explain the importance of casting vote. He was among the first celebrities to cast vote. The actor came in early in the morning to cast his vote. Interestingly, this was Dulquer Salmaan's first ever vote in the state.

Actors like Dileep, Jayaram, Sreenivasan, Mukesh, Suresh Gopi, Kavya Madhavan, Sanusha were also seen waiting for their turns to caste their valuable votes.

This election was also a star studded affair with various celebrities contesting from different places. Actors like Jagadish, Mukesh, Bheeman Raghu, Ganesh Kumar etc were seen contesting in elections this time.
