Christmas
is
one
of
the
most
happening
movie
release
seasons
for
the
Malayalam
movie
industry.
But
sadly,
Mollywood
will
not
have
Christmas
releases
this
year,
due
to
the
dispute
between
the
Film
Producers
Associations
and
Exhibitors
Federation.
All
the
Malayalam
Christmas
releases,
including
Mohanlal's
Munthirivallikal
Thalirkkumbol,
Dulquer
Salmaan
starrer
Jomonte
Suviseshangal,
Prithviraj's
Ezra,
and
Jayasurya
movie
Fukri
have
got
cancelled,
following
the
failed
compromise
talk
between
the
producers
and
theatre
owners.
The
exhibitors
and
distributors
recently
had
a
detailed
discussion
with
the
producers
association
members
over
the
issue,
in
the
presence
of
minister
AK
Balan.
But
the
teams
failed
to
make
a
final
decision
and
have
decided
to
hand
over
the
issue
to
a
special
commission.
Reportedly,
the
Theatre
Owners
Association
and
Film
Exhibitors
Federation
have
demanded
a
50-50
share
in
the
theatrical
collections.
But
both
the
Producers
Association
and
Distributors
Association
disagreed,
stating
that
it
would
cause
a
huge
loss
for
the
production
banners.
As
per
the
latest
updates,
the
teams
are
planning
to
have
a
discussion
by
the
upcoming
weekend.
If
things
fall
in
place,
Jomonte
Suviseshangal,
Munthirivallikal
Thalirkkumbol,
Ezra,
Fukri
will
hit
the
theatres
by
the
last
week
of
December
and
the
first
week
of
January,
in
the
pre-determined
order.
