Actors from other language film industries, including Bollywood, have expressed their interest in working in Malayalam films. Over the years, the Malayalam film industry and its makers have many a time offered chances for actors from other industries to work in Mollywood.
The year 2016 has also been not that different. In this particular year, we saw a number of other language actors foraying in Malayalam cinema industry and many of them even did go on to make a mark.

Vijay Raaz In Monsoon Mangoes
Vijay Raaz, who is one of the prominent character actors of Bollywood film industry, made his Mollywood debut with the film Monsoon Mangoes, which had Fahadh Faasil in the lead role. The actor appeared as Prem Kumar, a yesteryear superstar in the film.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, the daughter of veteran actor Sarathkumar, made a smashing debut in Mollywood, with this year's film Kasaba. The actress got to play the role of Kamala, a lady who owns a brothel. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar won rave reviews for the portrayal of the character, which had some negative shades associated with it.
Neha Saxena In Kasaba
Neha Saxena, who is a well-known face in Sandalwood, with films like Just Love, Dandu etc., made her Mollywood debut with the Mammootty starrer Kasaba. The actress got to play a short yet vital role in the movie. Neha Saxena will also be seen playing an important role in Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol.
Huma Qureshi In White
Huma Qureshi was another popular Bollywood actress who made her Mollywood debut in 2016. The actress was the chosen one to portray the role of a I.T. professional named Roshni Menon in White. The actress played the love interest of Prakash Roy, the character played by Mammootty in the film. It was a forgettable debut for the actress as the film flopped at the box office.
Jagapathi Babu In Pulimurugan
Jagapathi Babu got to play a powerful villain role in this year's blockbuster movie Pulimurugan, which had Mohanlal in the lead role. The actor appeared as Daddy Girija, the ruthless villain who fights Murugan. In fact, the actor received some good reviews for his performance in the film.
Rasika Dugal In Kammatipaadam
This year's movie Kammatipaadam introduced this actress in to Mollywood. Rasika Dugal, who is a product of FTII Pune, made a mark in Bollywood with movies like Qissa and Agyaat. The actress was roped in to play an important role in Kammatipaadam.
Priya Anand In Ezra
Popular South Indian actress Priya Anand, who made a mark in Bollywood, as well, makes her debut in Mollywood, with Ezra, which is expected to hit the theatres in this month. The actress will be seen playing the lead role in this movie, which falls in to the genre of horror.
Aishwarya Rajesh In Jomonte Suvisheshangal
Another Kollywood actress is all set to make a mark in Mollywood. Aishwarya Rajesh, who has been a part of number of critically acclaimed Tamil films, makes her Mollywood debut with Jomonte Suvisheshangal, which has been slated as a Christmas release. The actress is said to be playing an important role in the movie.
From the above mentioned list, only a few of them went on to make a mark with their debut Mollywood movies. Some of the performances went unnoticed, as well. For e.g. performance of Vijay Raaz, in the movie Monsoon Mangoes went quite unnoticed, since the movie couldn't make a mark at the box office.
Well, Priya Anand and Aiswarya Rajesh would be seen in the upcoming films Ezra and Jomonte Suvisheshangal. We hope that they would make a dream Mollywood debut with these movies and end this year in a grand fashion.
