Some big Malayalam films are gearing up to hit the theatres as Christmas release of the year. Read on to know more about the films.
Pooja season was quite an eventful one for Malayalam cinema. Mohanlal's Pulimurugan was the talking point of the season but Mammootty's Thoppil Joppan, was also not far behind.
With both the big releases of the season turning out to be money-spinners at the box office, all eyes are set on the next big season. And that surely is the Christmas season, during which some big Malayalam films are expected to hit the theatres.
Here, we list the Malayalam films, which are expected to hit the theatres as Christmas releases..
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol
After enjoying phenomenal success with Oppam and Pulimurugan, Mohanlal is all set with his upcoming film Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol. The film directed by Jibu Jacob would hit the theatres on December 22, 2016.
The Great Father
Mammootty's next big release is The Great Father, directed by Haneef Adeni. Reportedly, the film would hit the theatres on December 23, 2016. But, there hasn't been any official confirmation regarding the date of release.
Jomonte Suvisheshangal
Jomonte Suvisheshangal marks the first association of Dulquer Salmaan and veteran director Sathyan Anthikkad. The film scripted by Iqbal Kuttipuram has the actor playing the title role. The film again, would be a big release of the Christmas season.
Ezra
Ezra is Prithviraj's next big release. The film directed by Jay K is a horror thriller. The first look poster of Ezra was released recently and the makers have indicated that the film would hit the screens this winter.
Georgettan's Pooram
Georgettan's Pooram is the upcoming film of Dileep, directed by Dr Love fame Biju Arookutty. The film, which is in the lines of a complete entertainer has been shot mainly in Thrissur. Georgettan's Pooram is being planned as the Christmas release of Dileep.
From the movies mentioned in the above list, only the release date of Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol, has been confirmed. The makers of the film recently took to Facebook to officially announce the release date of the film.
Interestingly, all the big stars of Mollywood including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dileep, Dulquer Salmaan, Prithviraj etc., are having some films for the upcoming big season.
Well, we hope that the Christmas season would also turn out to be a fruitful one just like this year's Pooja season. Let us wait till we get an official confirmation regarding all the films, which would hit the theatres during the season.
