The month of September is all set to be a grand one for Malayalam film industry, with some big movies in the line.
The upcoming Onam season definitely holds good prospect for the Malayalam film industry. The festival season and the special movie releases are expected to set the cash registers ringing at the Kerala box office.

Oppam
Oppam, which marks the comeback of Mohanlal-Priyadarshan team, is all set to hit the theatres on September 8, 2016. The film, which has been tagged as a crime thriller, is the Onam release of Mohanlal.
Oozham
Oozham is another Malayalam film, which is gearing up to hit the theatres on September 8, 2016. The trailer of this Jeethu Joseph film, featuring Prithviraj in the lead role, was released to positive response recently.
Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho
Kunchacko Boban is all set to make the month of September special, with his upcoming film Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho, which also marks the comeback of his home production banner, Udaya banner.
Welcome To Central Jail
Welcome To Central Jail is the big festival comedy entertainer, which is all set to hit the theatres during the month of September. This Dileep starrer is expected to hit the theatres on September 14, 2016.
Oru Muthassi Gadha

Apart from the above listed films, a big Tamil film would also hit the theatres during the Onam season in the form of Vikram starrer Irumugan, which would hit the theatres on September 9, 2016.
The month of August was a good one for the Malayalam film industry, as far as the number of movie releases is concerned.
August did witness a flurry of movie releases, with 6 major movies hitting the theatres. Certain films did enjoy a good run at the box office.
Out of the August releases, Pretham and Ann Maria Kalippilaanu, emerged as big hits at the box office. Mohanlal starrer Vismayam started on a good note, but couldn't sustain the box office collection in the later days.
