    Mammootty's upcoming film, which has been titled as The Great Father is one of the most awaited projects of the star. The first look poster of the film was out recently and it has further raised the expectations about the film.

    Now, the latest news is that the shoot of the film has started off. Reportedly, the makers have officially started the shoot of the film on September 4, 2016. Director Ranjith, Mammootty etc. were present at the pooja ceremony of the film.

    The Great Father would mark the directorial debut of Haneef Adeni. The film, which has been tagged as a family entertainer, with thrilling elements would be produced by Shaji Nadesan, Santhosh Sivan, Prithviraj and Arya under the banner of August Cinemas.

    The film would also mark the comeback of renowned actress Sneha to Malayalam films, after a brief break. Child artist Sarah Arjun, who was recently seen in the film Ann Maria Kalippilaanu is also a part of the cast list.

    More importantly, Tamil actor Arya would be seen in an important role in the film. There are certain reports that the actor would be seen doing the role of the main antagonist of the film.
