Keerthikchakra, which released on 7th August 2006, is considered to be a landmark film in the history of Malayalam cinema.
Recently, the makers of the film celebrated the 10th anniversary of the film in a private ceremony. Actor Mohanlal took to Facebook to share a collage of photos taken during the occasion.

Mohanlal, in his Facebook post, mentioned that the film was quite a special one for the actor. He also stated that it is one such movie that gave the right tribute to the Indian Army.
Rightly, the film is one among the rare Malayalam films which evoked patriotic feel in the minds of the viewers. The film went on to become a big box office success.
It was for the first time that a Malayalam film made an army movie close to the international standards. The film was shot in real locations in Kashmir.
Mohanlal portrayed the role of a character named Major Mahadevan, which went on to become an iconic character post the release of the film.Mohanlal was much appreciated for his dedicated performance in the film.
The film, which had its script written by Major Ravi himself, also had Tamil actor Jiiva in an important role.
Apart from them Keerthichakra also featured actors like Saikumar, Shwetha Menon, Biju Menon, Cochin Haneefa, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Shammi Thilakan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Gopika etc in important roles.
