Mohanlal, is one such magical actor, who can do any kind of roles, with ease. We have seen his amazing ability as an actor, to portray any role convincingly. He makes it a point to put in his best and thus giving an additional angle to each character that he portrays.

In fact, even in some of the disappointing movies of the actor, we have seen him performing exceedingly well. Probably, the poor show of those movies at the box office, made those performances of the actor less popular in film circles.

Here, we list 5 Mohanlal movies, which were sheer disappointments, but these films definitely had actor Mohanlal in full-form. Importantly, the only positive of the below movies, is the magical performance of the actor.

Udayon (2006)

Udayon (2006)

Udayon, directed by Bhadran, came in with huge expectations but nosedived at the box office. The film had Mohanlal in a double role, as father and son, and the actor gave a noteworthy performance as Shooranad Paapoyi, the father character. In fact, he effectively portrayed the dual roles bestowed on him, which probably is the sole saving grace of the movie.

Alexander The Great (2010)

Alexander The Great (2010)

The film, which released in the year 2010, was loosely based on the Hollywood movie Rain Man and the movie had Mohanlal playing the role of a person with some special abilities. The actor had given a brilliant performance as the central character Alexander, adding some peculiar mannerisms but the movie as a whole didn't impress the audiences.

Red Chillie (2009)

Red Chillies, directed by Shaji Kailas, was filled with some over the top sequences, which probably didn't go down well with the audiences. But, it has to be said that, Mohanlal looked confident and stylish in the role of OMR, the big business tycoon.

Rock N Roll (2007)

Rock N Roll (2007)

The movie doesn't have much followers as it was a box office flop and didn't meet the expectations that the audiences had from a Ranjith-Mohanlal movie. Nonetheless, Mohanalal did put in his best to portray Chandramouli. Keeping aside the weird hairstyle that he sported, Mohanlal was at ease in performing the role of a musician. Importantly, the actor was also at his witty best while cracking some good one-liners in the movie.

Thacholi Varghese Chekavar (1995)

Thacholi Varghese Chekavar (1995)

The film, which released in the year 1995, couldn't meet the expectations of the viewers. Thacholi Varghese Chekavar had Mohanlal as a Kalari master and the role required him to display his flexibility, especially in action sequences. Needless to say, the actor was cent percent convincing in that role.

Well, the above mentioned movies show how brilliant an actor he is. The actor has that ability to carve out the best, even out of poorly written roles.

From the above listed movies, only Red Chillies managed to get in to the average league at the box office. Rest of the movies, couldn't mint good collections at the box office.
