Mohanlal's Oppam Gets A Release Date!

Oppam, the upcoming Mohanlal starring upcoming investigation thriller has got a release date. The movie, which is scripted and directed by Priyadarshan, will hit the theatres on September 8, Thursday.

It is the Onam special release for Mohanlal and the actor's first Malayalam release in 2016. The story of Oppam, which is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, is penned by newcomer Govind Vijayan.

Mohanlal's character, Jayaraman is a visually-challenged man, who has an exceptional skill to sense sound, smell, and touch. The actor recently stated that it is one of the most challenging roles in his career.

Oppam revolves around Jayaraman, who was charged for a murder which he actually witnessed, and how he finds out the real culprit. According to director Priyadarshan, the movie is a unique thriller.

Popular South Indian actress Vimala Raman makes a comeback into the industry, as the female lead opposite Mohanlal, in Oppam. Anusree, the talented actress will appear in a brief yet very important role.

Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Mamukkoya, Renji Panicker, Aju Varghese, Kalasala Babu, Idavela Babu, Chemban Vinod Jose, etc. appear in the supporting roles. Oppam is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas.
