Mohanlal's Puli Murugan To Release Next Year?

Here is yet another disappointing news for the Mohanlal fans who were eagerly waiting for Puli Murugan. As per the latest reports, the movie may not hit the theatres this year.

If the rumours are to be true, Puli Murugan will release in January 2017, as a new year special release. The sources point out some unexpected technical issues as the reason for the delay.

The movie, which was originally planned for Christmas 2015, was postponed multiple times due to the delay in the last schedule filming and technical issues. Puli Murugan was last slated to release on August 12th.

But, the Vysakh-directed movie is postponed again due to the release of Janatha Garage, Mohanlal's upcoming Telugu movie. Puli Murugan cannot be released for Onam 2016, as the slot is pre-occupied by Oppam.

It is not possible to postpone Oppam, as it is a vital project for both Mohanlal and Priyadarshan. Puli Murugan was also speculated to be releasing for Navarathri season, but it was later revealed to be false.

As per the reports, the team is planning to release Puli Murugan during a safe season, where it will not have to compete with any other big releases. So, the movie may hit the theatres as the first release of 2017.
