Now, we have another reason to say that Mohanlal is the real King of Box Office. The year 2016, so far has been a good one for the actor as he has churned out back-to-back hits, with Pulimurugan being the latest one.

In fact, his last three films Pulimurugan, Oppam and Janatha Garage have turned out to be big blockbusters. This makes him the first superstar of Indian cinema who has earned 3 back-to-back blockbusters in a single year.

Janatha Garage, which released in the month of September, did enter the 100-Crore club in no time and is the highest grosser of Tollywood in this year, so far.

Oppam, which was the Onam release of this year again fetched gold at the box office. The movie, so far has grossed 58 Crores from the worldwide box office. Meanwhile, Pulimurugan, which released on October 7, 2016 has turned out to be an industry hit.

It is not for the first time that Mohanlal has had a hat-trick of successes. Here, we list the 5 previous instances when Mohanlal got back-to-back successes.

Harikrishnans, which had Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles also turned out to be a blockbuster.

Mohanlal's next release of the 2016 is Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, directed by Jibu Jacob. The film, which is in the lines of a family entertainer would hit the theatres on December 22, 2016. Let us wait and see whether that film too, would turn out to be a big hit.
