Malayalam audiences have always loved to see some enthralling fight sequences in movies. The recent example being Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan, in which there are some amazing action sequences.
In fact, actor Mohanlal himself came forward to do most of the action sequences on his own, which added originality and credibility to those sequences. Less often, we have seen actors coming up to do the stunts, without the help of body doubles or dupes.

Jayan
We must start with this person. He was one such Malayalam actor who used to do all the stunts of his films, on his own. He never sought the help of dupes and was firm about imparting originality to the action sequences. Unfortunately, it was during the shoot of one such risky action sequences, that the actor lost his life.
Mohanlal
Well, nothing much has to be said about this magnificent actor. He is so fascinated about stunts that he has amazed us by doing some risky stunt stunt sequences, with the recent example being Pulimurugan. He has also done some daring stunts in films like Naran, Casanovva, Olympian Anthony Adam etc.
Mammootty
Much before Pulimurugan, there came a Malayalam film, which narrated the story of a tiger hunter. Yes, we are talking about I V Sasi's Mrigaya. In fact, I V Sasi recently revealed how Mammootty shot with a real tiger in the film.
Prithviraj
Prithviraj Sukumaran is a highly dedicated actor, who is ready to undergo any kind of transformation for the character. His film Hero, released in the year 2012, dealt with the story of a stunt man in films. Prithviraj opted to do all the stunts of the film on his own.
Dileep
Dileep hasn't acted in many action entertainers but there is a movie in which he opted to do a daring stunt. The actor did a stunning stunt sequence for the film Crazy Gopalan. There is a sequence in the film in which the character played by Dileep jumps to the sea, from a bridge. Dileep did this risky stunt, by himself.
Dulquer Salmaan
Dulquer Salmaan, the young actor of Mollywood, is said to be crazy about bikes. He did prove that with his film Bangalore Days, in which he played quite an interesting character. If reports are to be believed, the actor performed the bike stunts in the climax sequences of the film, on his own.
Well, there is always an added advantage when the actors decide to do the stunts on their own. There is a special thrill and enjoyment, when we see our favourite stars coming forward to do daring stunts. Such sequences in films also act as the high-selling points of the film in concern.
In fact, Pulimurugan's USP is the never seen before kind of action sequences in the film. The stunts choreographed by Peter Hein are considered to be of Hollywood standards. When Mohanlal decided to the stunts on his own, the sequences became even more special.
