Nivin Pauly and Alphonse Puthren, the popular actor-director duo cum best buddies, is all set to team up once again, after the huge success of their last outing, Premam.
Interestingly, Nivin and Alphonse are not teaming up for a full-length feature film; but an anthology movie titled Aviyal. The project is produced by the popular Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj.
Eli, the highly popular short film, which is directed by Alphonse Puthren, with Nivin Pauly and Bobby Simha in the central roles, is one of the five short films included in Aviyal.
Aviyal is a venture which is similar to 5 Sundarikal, which also had five short films directed by five Malayalam film-makers. The titles of the rest of the short films in Aviyal will be announced soon.
Shammmer Sultan, Mohit Mehra, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Guru Smaran are the other four directors who are associate with the project. Aviyal will hit the theatres by February 2016.
Alphonse and Nivin, who were childhood friends, rose to fame with their video album Yuvvh. Their first movie venture, the bilingual movie Neram, was a critical and commercial success.
Premam, the duo's second collaboration, emerged as the second highest ever grosser of Malayalam cinema, and the highest grossing Malayalam movie of 2015.
