The actor married Rinna Joy, his longtime girlfriend on August 28, 2010, in a traditional Christian wedding ceremony held at Syro Malabar Catholic Church, Aluva. The couple is blessed with a son named Daveed.

Nivin Pauly has always stated that their love story has absolutely no similarity with the so-called filmy romantic tales. The couple were best friends from the first year of college and eventually fell in love.

The actor has stated that he is still clueless about what quality attracted Rinna towards him. According to him, it is the story of the backbencher boy, who fell in love with the most studious girl of his class.

That one quality of Rinna, which attracted Nivin the most, was her understanding nature. He has stated that Rinna was his pillar of strength during the struggle period after he quit the job for cinema.
