Oppam Is An Original Script: Priyadarshan

Priyadarshan is all set to make a comeback with the upcoming Mohanlal starrer Oppam. Since Priyadarshan is known as the king of remakes, the industry believes that Oppam is also a remake.

But, in a recent interview, the hitmaker clarified that the movie is not a remake, but based on an original screenplay. Priyadarshan assured that every single scene of Oppam is original, and not copied.

Recently, some online media had reported that Oppam is an unofficial remake of a popular Hollywood flick. But, Priyadarshan immediately brushed off the rumours and stated that the movie is based on fresh thought.

Reportedly, a prestigious Bollywood banner has already bagged the remake rights Oppam. Priyadarshan will also direct the Hindi version, which will have a popular Bollywood star in the role played by Mohanlal.

Oppam is a critical project in both Mohanlal and Priyadarshan's careers, as both of them badly need a successful movie. Mohanlal hasn't had a decent box office success, after the victory of Drishyam.

Vimala Raman plays the female lead in the movie. Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Mamukkoya, Renji Panicker, Aju Varghese, Kalasala Babu, Idavela Babu, Chemban Vinod Jose, etc. play the supporting roles.
