Parvathy, who started her film career in the year 1986 with the film Vivahithare Ithile Ithile decided to quit acting after her marriage with actor Jayaram in the year 1992. She also confirmed that she is no longer interested to make a comeback to films.

It did make news when Samyuktha Varma refused an offer to act along with Rajinikanth in the film Baba, owing to her marriage with actor Biju Menon. The actress who has won good number of awards left the industry after her marriage.

Shalini entered the industry as a child artist and became a lead actress with the film Aniyathipravu. She acted in close to 10 Malayalam films as the lead actress and later quit films after her marriage with actor Ajith.

Divya Unni

Divya Unni

Divya Unni, who entered the films as a child artist, later went on to become one of the top actresses of Mollywood. The actress left the scene after her marriage in the year 2001. She was later seen as a host of the show American Jalakam in Asianet.

Nazriya Nazim was at the peak of her career when she got married to actor Fahadh Faasil. She was last seen in the film Bangalore Days, which was a phenomenal success. Neither Fahadh nor Nazriya has denied the chances for a comeback of the actress to films.

Samvrutha Sunil, who debuted with the film Rasikan in the year 2004, did feature in a good number of films in Malayalam. The actress decided to quit films after her marriage in the year 2012.

Gopika did make a mark of her own in the entire South Indian film industry. The actress left films after her marriage in the year 2008. She did make a brief comeback to films in the year 2013 with the film Bharya Athra Pora.

Manju Warrier

Manju Warrier

Manju Warrier quit films in the year 1999 after her marriage with actor Dileep. And it was after a gap of 14 years that the actress made a comeback to the industry with the film How Old Are You.

Most of the actresses in the above list left the field when they were at the peak of their careers and it was their personal and individual decision to quit films.

More importantly, in the past, actresses who are married were not considered for leading roles in films. Even if they wished for a comeback, they were sidelined to small supporting roles.

Of late, it has to be said that there has been a change in this trend. We saw actresses like Gopika, Manju Warrier, Navya Nair, Meena etc. coming back to films doing the lead roles in films.

At the same time, such comebacks and decisions have went on to create stirs in the personal life of certain actresses.

Amala Paul, has been in the news recently since the speculations regarding her fallout with her husband A L Vijay is doing the rounds. Her in laws confirmed that her decision to continue acting in films was one of the major reasons for the fall-out.
