Priyadarshan Movies Which Didn’t Have Mohanlal As The Hero

There came a news that Priyadarshan is planning his next Malayalam film with Prithviraj and Maniyanpilla Raju will be producing the film. No confirmations have come yet, but we hope that the news is true.

Seldom have we seen Priyadarshan opting for actors other than Mohanlal for the lead role. Let us take a look at some Malayalam films of Priyadarshan in which Mohanlal was not a part of.

Odaruthammava Aalariyam

This film has got a cult fan following. The story of a group of youngsters did strike the right chords. Mukesh, Sreenivasan, Jagadish, Nedumudi Venu, Shankar, Srinath etc did the main roles.

Dheem Tharikida Thom

This film, interestingly had Maniyanpilla Raju doing the lead role. The film is still considered to be a perfect entertainer with great performances from actors like Jagathi Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu etc.

Raakkuyilin Ragasadassil

This film came as a different attempt from Priyadarshan. The film was on a serious not and had Mammootty and Suhasini in the lead roles.

Megham

It was after a long gap that Priyadarshan joined hands with Mammootty. Much was expected from the film, but the film didn't do well at the box office back then.

Vettam

When Priyadarshan decided to join hands with Dileep, a laugh riot was guaranteed. Vettam was nothing short of that and was an out and out entertainer. The film's story was inspired from Hindi film Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha.

Aamayum Muyalum

Aamaym Muyalum was a remake of his own Hindi film Malamaal Weekly. The film did have Jayasurya in the lead role. The film didn't fare well at the box office

Priyadarshan and Mohanlal have worked together in more than 20 movies. Priyadarshan's debut movie Poochakkoru Mookkuthi had the actor as one of the heroes.

They both have delivered hits like Chithram, Kilukkam,Thenmavin Kombathu, Chandralekha etc which interestingly set various records at the box office.

They have tried hands at various genres which include comedy, action, horror, thrillers etc. Priyadarshan and Mohanlal together gave one of the masterpiece films of Malayalam through the film Kaalapani.

Their upcoming work is film Oppam which is said to be a thriller. Their previous project Geethanjali did fail to deliver good results.

Much is being expected from Oppam, since Priyadarshan is trying a different track in this film. These are good signs and hope that we get that old Priyadarshan back, who delivered back to back successes in Malayalam film industry.
