Shaun Romy: I Was Worried About My Complexion

Shaun Romy, the leading lady of the recent movie Kammatipaadam, is new sensation of M'town. She proudly broke the so-called stereotypes of Malayalam heroines, with her distinctive looks.

In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she was extremely worried about her complexion, during her childhood days. When she was a young girl, Shaun used to pray to God for a fairer complexion.

It was Shaun's friend Pearle Maaney, who recommended her to director-cinematographer Sameer Thahir. Thus, she bagged the role of heroine's friend in his Dulquer Salmaan starrer, Neelakashan Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi.

Later, she came to know that Kammatipaadam team is looking for a tall, dark-complexioned girl for the female lead. Shaun sent her makeup-less photos to Geethu Mohandas, the wife of director Rajeev Ravi.

Later, she passed the screen test and signed the project. Initially, Shaun expected that character will appear in a retro look, and did some homework for her get-up. Later she came to know that it is a de-glam role.

Shaun Romy, who hails from Trivandrum, is settled in Bangalore since last 15 years. She is working as a biotech engineer for a US-based company. Shaun is also highly active in the modelling field.
