The State, the highly anticipated Suresh Gopi-Shaji Kailas movie, is shelved. The movie, which also had solar scam accused, Saritha Nair in a major role, has been dropped due to political reasons.

According to the reports, The State was a movie based on the infamous solar scam. Suresh Gopi was supposed to play the role of an investigation officer, who handles the solar case.

Saritha Nair was said to be playing herself in the movie, which created a huge hype due to its highly sensitive theme. But the team was forced to drop the project due to the practical difficulties.

According to the sources, director Shaji Kailas felt that the sudden changes in the political scenario of Kerala will bring a bad reputation to the project. So he decided to drop The State.

Suresh Gopi, who was supposed to play the lead role in the movie, is busy building up a political career. Reportedly, he also feared that the movie may badly affect his public image.

The State, which was penned by Rajesh Jayaraman, was shot for almost two weeks at Trivandrum. The director and lead actor are yet to announce the news officially.
