WHAT! Thira 2 Shelved?

Thira 2, the much anticipated sequel of the highly appreciated crime thriller Thira, was expected to start rolling by mid-2016. But according to the rumour mills, Thira 2 has been shelved.

Sources suggest that Thira 2 has been dropped, as Vineeth Sreenivasan has committed other projects. It is clear that the young director is not planning to start scripting Thira 2 in the near future.

The Shobana starrer, which was written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, has been considered as one of the best thrillers made in the recent past. Thira was also the debut movie of Dhyan Sreenivasan.

Even much before the release of Thira, director Vineeth had confirmed that there will two sequels for the movie, which is a trilogy. The sequels were expected to be released on 2016 and 2017 respectively.

It was also confirmed that Shobana, who played the central character, Dr. Rohini Pranab, will play the lead role in the sequels as well. The team was planning to cast a prominent young actor in Thira 2.

Dulquer Salmaan was rumoured to playing the lead role in Thira 2, along with Shobana. Vineeth had also revealed that Dhyan will not be a part of Thira 2; but will appear in Thira 3.

However, it will definitely be a disappointing news for the fans of Thira and Shobana, who were eagerly waiting for Thira 2. We hope the team will clear the rumours as soon as possible.
