Shanavas
Shanavas, son of Prem Nazir, had the perfect launchpad for a career in Malayalam cinema. The actor debuted through the film Premageethangal. Unfortunately, the actor couldn't find success in Mollywood.
Jishnu Raghavan
Jishnu Raghavan made a fantastic debut in the film Nammal, directed by Kamal. The film went on to be a big success and Jishnu Raghvan became a notable face. Unfortunately, the actor couldn't get good roles later on and was unable to make it big in the industry.
Archana Kavi
She started off doing the lead role in Lal Jose's Neelathamara which was written by M T Vasudevan Nair. A dream debut by all means. She gave a decent performance in this film, but couldn't find success later on.
Kailash
Kailash, who also made his debut in Malayalam films with Neelathamara, has been unlucky so far in Mollywood. Despite of his good skills in acting, he hasn't got any role which could challenge the actor in him.
Deepa Nair
Deepa Nair got a good start to her film career with the movie Priyam which had Kunchacko Boban in the lead role. The film was a hit at the box-office, but the actress wasn't seen later in any other films.
Chandni
All those who have seen the film Celluloid, would definitely know about Chandni, who did the role of Rosy in the film. The film earned great reviews and commercial success. But, we haven't seen the actress in any other movie, so far.
Most of the Mollywood celebrities mentioned in the above list did get a good start to their film career. They got a meaty role and backing from the industry, but still the luck factor was not in their favour. In other words, these Mollywod celebrities couldn't capitalize on the good start that they got.
At times, talent solely isn't enough to make a mark in the industry. Sometimes, you need talent mixed with equal amount of luck to sustain in the film industry.
On the other hand, there are many other celebrities, who didn't have a great start to their career, but with their dedication and perseverance, they went on to make it big in the industry.
Actors like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep etc started off their career doing small roles in films. But, later on, they went on to establish their names in the industry.
