CONFIRMED: Vidya Balan To Make Malayalam Debut With Kamala Surayya Biopic

Vidya Balan, the super-talented actress of Bollywood, is all set to make her Malayalam debut. It is confirmed that Vidya Balan is playing the title role in Kamala Surayya biopic.

The movie, which is directed by the veteran film-maker Kamal, was announced last year. Later, it was rumoured that the project has been shelved, due to the production issues.

But as per the latest updates, the project is very much on board. The movie is expected to start rolling by the end of 2016 after Vidya Balan completes her Bollywood movies.

Kamal, the director, states that Vidya Balan is the only actress who is eligible to play Kamala Surayya, the veteran writer. Reportedly, Vidya is quite excited about her Malayalam movie debut.

The untitled movie will explore the three stages of Kamala Surayya's life, including her marriage at the age of 15, the birth of her autobiography Ente Kadha, and her conversion to Islam at the age of 67.

Vidya Balan, who is a Malayali by birth, was actually supposed to make her Mollywood debut with Lohithadas's Mohanlal movie, Chakram. But the project was shelved at the initial stage itself.
