Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, which released in the year 2001, was one of the big blockbusters of those days. The film, directed by Karan Johar, featured actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Jaya Bachchan, Kajol, Kareen Kapoor etc., in important roles.
The film had a plot, which was in the lines of a perfect family entertainer. In fact, the film had a theme which would cater to the Malayalam audiences and it was one of the resons why the film became a big hit in Kerala, as well.

Mammootty As Yashvardhan
Well, the obvious choice for the role of Yashvardhan is Megastar Mammootty, who could perfectly fit in to the shoes of Amitabh Bachchan. He can simply excel in the role of a powerful businessman and a strict yet loving father. Think about the climax sequences of the film, where the emotional side of the character comes out. The actor would simply nail it with his performance.
Revathi As Nandini
Nandini, wife of Yashvardhan, plays a pivotal role in this film. Well, we would like to pick Revathi for this role as she could simply steal the show with her portrayal of a loving mother. More importantly, the onscreen pair of Mammootty and Revathi is something that we have not see much in Malayalam films and that would definitely add a freshness to the movie.
Prithviraj As Rahul
Shahrukh Khan had made this character memorable, by portraying it in his unique style. Coming to Mollywood, from the present lot of actors, Prithviraj would be the best choice for the role of Rahul, who is the elder son of Yashvardhan. He can do both the younger and the elder versions of the character with ease.
Nayanthara As Anjali
Nayanthara is the apt choice for the character of Anjali, the love interest of Rahul, portrayed by Kajol in the original. She has that star value and at the same time the capability to bring in an energetic performance, which is much required for the character. Importantly, Prithviraj-Nayanthar pair would definitely look good on the screen.
Dulquer Salmaan As Rohan
Rohan, the younger brother of Rahul, was portrayed by Hrithik Roshan in the original version and he looked super stylish in that particular role. In fact, there is only one young actor who could do this role perfectly in Malayalam and it is none other than Dulquer Salmaan. He has the ability to make this character a memorable one and importantly, the combination sequences of Mammootty-Prithviraj-Dulquer Salmaan would make a great impact.
Anu Emmanuel As Pooja
Pooja, the younger sister of Anjali and the love interest of Rohan, is one of the most bubbly characters of the film. From the young generation Malayalam actresses, Anu Emmanuel would fit in to the shoes of this character perfectly.
Well, it wouldn't be a bad idea to think about for the film-makers of Mollywood, for such a remake as multi-starrer movies have always been well received by Kerala audiences
If one such project happens, it would be really a big one in all aspects. It would be a real treat to watch Mammootty, Prithviraj and Dulquer Salmaan in the same frame.
