Malayalam
film
industry
is
blessed
with
versatile
actors
who
could
fit
into
any
kinds
of
roles.
And
definitely,
such
actors
are
the
valuable
treasures
of
the
industry.
Today,
we
are
going
to
talk
about
those
comedians
who
turned
villains
for
certain
films.
Take
a
look.
Jagathy
Sreekumar
Let
us
begin
with
the
master
actor
who
has
amazed
us
all
with
his
acting
skills.
Jagathy
Sreekumar,
who
is
well
known
for
his
comedy
roles
has
done
a
good
number
of
comical
villain
characters.
But,
Passenger
and
Urumi
had
the
actor
doing
roles
with
complete
negative
shades,
and
he
simply
excelled
in
those
roles.
Kalabhavan
Mani
Kalabhavan
Mani
entered
the
film
industry
as
a
comedian
and
later
shifted
to
villain
roles
before
becoming
a
mainstream
hero.
It
was
through
Vallyettan
that
the
actor
got
a
chance
to
play
a
role
with
a
slight
negative
shades.
His
villainous
act
in
Chotta
Mumbai
received
much
appreciation.
Innocent
It
is
difficult
to
imagine
him
as
a
villain,
but
he
has
portrayed
certain
villain
characters
with
elan.
Keli
directed
by
Bharathan
had
him
in
the
role
of
a
womanizer.
Later,
in
2005
he
did
the
main
villain
role
in
Mammootty
starrer
Thaskaraveeran.
Suraj
Venjaramoodu
This
National
Award
winner
too
has
tried
his
hands
in
doing
characters
with
negative
shades.
The
film
Pigman
had
him
doing
the
role
of
a
doctor
with
slight
negative
shades.
Kalabhavan
Shajon
Who
would
forget
Inspector
Sahadevan
of
Drishyam?
We
all
loved
to
hate
that
character
and
it
was
portrayed
by
Kalabhavan
Shajon
who
was
till
then
a
comedian.
This
film
proved
his
ability
to
do
any
kinds
of
roles.
Beautiful
Tini
Tom
who
came
to
film
as
a
comedy
artist
did
a
rather
serious
role
in
the
film
Beautiful.
The
character
which
had
a
negative
shade
was
safe
in
his
hands.
We
have
heard
a
lot
about
villains
turning
into
comedians.
Actors
like
Cochin
Haneefa,
Janardhanan,
Rajan
P
Dev,
Baburaj,
Bheeman
Raghu
etc
were
once
best
known
for
their
villain
roles
but
later
they
opted
for
a
role
reversal.
But,
comedy
actors
have
not
had
that
liberty
to
choose
much.
So,
comedians
turned
villains
are
comparitively
lesser
in
number.
Most
of
the
times,
we
have
seen
comedians
getting
sterotyped
with
same
kind
of
roles.
Actors
like
Jagathy
Sreekumar
and
Innocent
have
went
on
to
perform
some
character
roles
but
still
main
villain
roles
didn't
come
their
way
so
often.
But,
whenever
they
did
something
different,
they
did
make
it
a
point
to
amaze
us.
It
has
to
be
noted
that,
the
skills
of
comedy
actors
in
Malayalam
cinema
are
beyond
our
expectations.
Salimkumar
and
Suraj
Venjaramoodu,
who
went
on
to
win
National
Awards
for
Best
Actor
stand
as
a
testimony
to
that.
