The makers of Pretham did consult a real life mentalist named Adarsh Aathi, for the character development in the film. Recently, director of the film Ranjith Sankar, actor Jayasurya and Adarsh Aathi had a casual meeting.

Actor Jayasurya took to Facebook to post a video, which was taken during their recent meeting. In the video you can see Adarsh Aathi doing mentalism on Jayasurya, to find who the actor's first girlfriend was.
