The past week was an eventful one for the Malayalam film industry. In fact, the arrest of actor Dileep and the subsequent events and controversies, did hog the limelight in the past 7 days.
Popular actor Dileep was arrested on July 10, 2017, for his alleged involvement in the actress assault case, which did send a shock wave not just to the industry, but to the entire people in Kerala.
The entire media circuit, including TV channels and online media, were busy discussing Dileep's arrest and his alleged involvement in the case.
Apart from the Dileep issue, certain other stories have also made it to the headlines. The announcement of Nivin Pauly's another big project and the official title release of Mammootty's next with Syam Dhar etc., too came in as a sigh of relief for Mollywood.

Dileep's Arrest & His Subsequent Expulsion From AMMA
After actor Dileep was arrested by the police for his alleged involvement in the actress assault case, AMMA, the association of Malayalam Movie Artists, decided to expel Dileep from the association. Similarly, the Producers associatioon has also cancelled Dileep's membership.
The bail plea of Dileep was rejected by Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on July 15, 2017. The actor's advocates will now, move to the High Court for a bail.
Tovino Thomas & Dhanush Once Again
Tovino Thomas is definitely going places as the actor has some big projects in his kitty. The young actor will soon team up with Dhanush's Wunderbar films, once again, for a film, which has been titled as Maradona. This upcoming film will be directed by debutant Vishnu Narayanan. Tharangam, another upcoming film of Tovino Thomas is also being produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films.
The Title Of Mammootty's Next
The much awaited title and the poster of Mammootty's upcoming film with Syam Dhar, were released on July 15, 2017. This upcoming film, which features Mammootty in the role of a teacher trainer, has been titled as Pullikkaran Staraa.
Nivin Pauly & Jomon T John To Team Up
Popular cinematographer Jomon T John is all set to direct a film. Reportedly, his debut directorial venture, will feature Nivin Pauly in the lead role. This upcoming big budget venture, will have its script penned by Sidhartha Siva and the movie will be based on Kerala's first ship Kairali, which went missing in the sea in 1979.
Mohanlal's Randamoozham To Get A Hollywood Connection?
Mohanlal's upcoming big project Randamoozham - Mahabharatha, is growing bigger, with each passing day. Earlier, it was reported that action director Peter Hein will be a part of this big project.
Now, if reports are to be believed, popular action choreographer Lee Whittaker, who choreographed the action sequences of movies like Jurassic Park 3, X-Men, fast And Furious 5, might also be a part of the project.
Antony Varghese's Next Gets A Title
Antony Varghese, who rose to fame with his debut movie Angamaly Diaries, has reportedly signed his next. Interestingly, this film will also mark B Unnikrishnan's debut as a producer.
Titled as Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, this movie will be jointly produced by B Unnikrishnan, B Rakesh, Lijo Jose Pellissery and Chemban Vinod Jose. The movie, which is touted be an action thriller will be helmed by debutant Tinu Pappachan.
Importantly, Tinu Pappachan had earlier served as an associate to Lijo Jose Pellissery. Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, will have its story set in the premises of Kottayam. The movie is expected to go on floors by the month of October.
