It is quite known to all that actresses from Kerala have made a big mark in Kollywood. Popular Malayalam actresses like Nayanthara, Asin, Amala Paul, Nazriya Nazim etc., have been able to establish a strong fan base in Tamil Nadu.
Yesterday (July 13, 2017), the Tamil Nadu Govt. announced the State Film Awards for the years 2009 to 2014 and strikingly, actresses from Kerala, bagged the big awards, of each year.
Amala Paul, who impressed each an everyone with her performance in Myna was adjudged the Best Actress for the year 2010. Meanwhile, Iniya's performance in the film Vaagai Sooda Va earned her the same title in the year 2011.
Lakshmi Menon, who is yet another actress from Kerala, was adjudged the Best Actress of the year 2012 for her performances in the films Kumki and Sundarapandian.
Nayanthara's spectacular act in the 2013 film Raja Rani fetched her the big title for that particular year. Apart from these, Padmapriya, who made her entry to the film world with the Malayalam movie Kazhcha was adjudged the Best actress of the year 2009 for Pokkisham.
Malayalam actress Nazriya Nazim, who made a mark in Tamil films as well, also won a big award, as she won a special prize for her performance in Neram.
