Mohanlal’s Villain To Release In 8K
Reportedly, the team of Mohanlal's upcoming movie Villain, is planning something really big. The film, helmed by B Unnikrishnan is being shot in ‘Red' camera of ‘Weapon Helium 8K series' and importantly the makers are planning to release the film in 8K format. In fact, Villain is the first Indian film to be shot in 8K format.
Vinayakan In Contention For National Awards
Actor Vinayakan, who was recently adjudged the Best Actor at the Kerala State Awards 2016 has got another big reason to smile. Reportedly, the actor is in contention for the award for the Best Actor at the National level and will fight it out with other big nominees. The award results are expected to be out by March end.
Puthan Panam Gets A New Release Date
Mammootty starrer Puthan Panam, directed by Ranjith, was earlier expected to hit the theatres in the month of April. Reportedly, the makers have decided to push forward the release date and now they are planning to release the movie on May 12, 2017.
Namitha Pramod To Join Kammarasambhavam
Kammarasambhavam, directed by Rathish Ambat and featuring Dileep in the lead role is getting bigger with each passing day. The team has roped in popular actress Namitha Pramod to do an important role in the movie. Reportedly, the actress will soon join the sets of the movie.
Bharathchandran IPS To Have A Sequel?
Here is a happy news for all the fans of the iconic character Bharathchandran, portrayed by Suresh Gopi. If reports are to be believed, a sequel to Bharathchandran IPS is in consideration and it is Liberty Basheer who is planning the project. Reportedly, either Renji Panicker or Shaji Kailas will helm the project.

The expectations on The Great Father is reaching newer heights. After the first teaser of the film, which was widely praised, the makers of the film did come up with the second teaser and the first video song of the movie. The second teaser has become a big hit on Youtube but it has evoked mixed reactions from the viewers.

Well, here is a happy news for all Dhanush fans of the State. Certain reports are doing the rounds that Dhanush would soon make his debut as a producer in Mollywood. If reports are to be believed, the actor's banner Wunderbar films will be producing Tovino Thomas's upcoming film directed by Dominic Arun, which will have the actor in the role of a Police Officer.

This news did shock each and everyone in the industry. Film-maker Diphan(47), who gave the blockbuster film Puthiya Mukham, passed away on March 13, 2017. Reportedly, the actor was undergoing a treatment in one of the private hospitals in Kochi.
Prithviraj To Join Hands With Roopesh Peethambaran?
Roopesh Peethambaran is in news again after his act in the film Oru Mexican Aparatha went on to become a huge hit among the masses. Now, there are certain rumours doing the rounds regarding his next project as a director. Reportedly, the film-maker will team up with actor Prithviraj for his next. The film-maker is reworking on the script based on a few suggestions made by Prithviraj and the movie is expected to go on floors whenever Prithviraj is free.
In fact, the week was a pleasant one as far as the movie releases are concerned. Two major Malayalam movies, did make it to the theatres on the same day (March 7, 2017).
Sunny Wayne starrer Alamara, directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and Manju Warrier-Amala Akkineni team's C/O Saira Banu were the movies that made it to the theatres.
Both the films have been receiving favourable reviews from the audiences and we have to wait and see how the box office collections of these movies have turned out to be.
Anyhow, these movies will face stiff competition from this week's big releases. The first film to hit the theatres will be Honey Bee 2, which will release on March 23, 2017. The very next day, Take Off, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, featuring Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil and Parvathy in the lead roles will hit the theatres.
