Malayalam film industry has entered the New Year but is still devoid of the big releases. But, on a positive note, the past week did witness the arrival of two quality Malayalam films, in the form of Kaadu Pookkunna Neram and Godsay.
Both the movies have opened to good reviews from the critics and let us hope that these movies would go on to make it big at the box office, as well.

Rumours were rife that Vidya Balan has opted out of Kamal's Aami. But, the PR of Vidya Balan refuted all the rumours and has confirmed that the actress is still a part of the project. The film will go on floors once the film strike is called off.

According to the latest reports, Dulquer Salmaan is all set to do another Tamil film. Reportedly, the actor would be seen in the lead role in an upcoming film which will be directed by debutant Ra Karthik. The new film is expected to be in the lines of movies like Jab We Met, Highway etc.

Interestingly, the producers and distributors are planning to release Malayalam movies in B class theatres and other theatres which are not a part of the Exhibitors Federation.
Reportedly, Prithviraj's Ezra will be the first big release of the year, which is expected to hit the theatres on Jan 19, 2016.
Dulquer Salmaan's Jomonte Suvisheshangal, Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol and Jayasurya's Fukri will subsequently hit the theatres.
Meanwhile, Vijay's Bairavaa, is all set to open big at the Kerala box office. The film would hit the theatres on January 12, 2016.
