play
a
police
officer,
once
again.
The
actor
is
playing
a
cop
in
the
upcoming
suspense
thriller
Streetlights,
which
marks
the
directorial
debut
of
cinematographer
Shamdat.
As
per
the
latest
reports,
Streetlights
is
a
bilingual
which
has
been
simultaneously
made
in
Malayalam
and
Tamil
languages.
However,
Mammootty
and
director
Shamdat
have
not
confirmed
the
reports
officially
yet.
In
a
recent
interview,
director
Shamdat
had
confirmed
that
the
movie
will
be
an
out-and-out
thriller,
which
will
be
depicted
in
a
stylish
narrative
pattern.
Mammootty's
role
in
the
movie
has
been
kept
as
a
secret.
Interestingly,
lead
actor
Mammootty
is
turning
producer
once
again
with
Streetlights,
which
is
scripted
by
director
Shamdat
himself.
Mammootty
last
turned
producer
for
the
2012-movie
Jawan
Of
Vellimala.
He
had
also
co-produced
the
2014
movie
Varsham
along
with
director
Ranjith
Sankar,
for
his
banner
Playhouse
Pictures.
The
movie
will
also
have
Dharmajan
Bolgatty
and
Lijomol
Jose
in
key
roles.
Shamdat's
brother
Sadat
handles
the
cinematography.
The
project
will
be
filmed
in
a
single
schedule
at
the
various
locations
of
Kochi,
Kambam,
Theni,
Pollachi,
Chennai,
etc.
