Mohanlal is one such Malayalam actor who has a huge fan base inside and outside Kerala. His crowd-pulling ability is second to none and he has proved that over and again with his blockbuster movies.

His most recent film Pulimurugan, had the superstar in full-form and the film completely satisfied the fans of the actor. There were those punch dialogues, twirling the moustache sequences, which all did set the theatres on fire.

In a recent interview given to the Times Of India, Mohanlal opened up about his views on such fan-based movies.

Mohanlal stated that he has never asked any director or writer to add any elements in a film, so as to please the fans. He also believes that such a trend doesn't exist in Malayalam cinema any more.

The actor also cited the example of Tamil film industry in which such a trend exists even now where routine things like intro song, fight sequences are inevitable, in the absence of which the fans might get disappointed.

Mohanlal also remarked that thankfully the Malayalam audiences don't need this and he also believes that when a movie is made for fans alone, the film won't turn out to be a good one.

Well, his next film is definitely not the one for the fans alone. The actor's next release is Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which would have the actor in the role of a common man.
