After a gap of close to 50 days, the Malayalam film audiences had a sigh of relief in the form of two big releases that hit the theatres in the last week.

Dulquer Salmaan starrer Jomonte Suvisheshangal was the first one to hit the theatres on January 19, 2017 with the film releasing in close to 150 theatres in Kerala.

Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol hit the theatres very next day on January 20, 2017. The film too, had a humongous release with the movie gracing close to 180 theatres in Kerala alone.

Munthirivallilkal Thalirkkumbol & Jomonte Suvisheshangal Open Big

Dulquer Salmaan starrer Jomonte Suvisheshangal and Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol have made a bumper opening at the box office. The former managed to gross 2.72 Crores on its opening day whereas Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol crossed the 3-Crore mark. Both the films have opened to positive reviews and are expected to make it big at the box office.

The first official trailer of Mahesh Narayanan's debut directorial venture Take Off, was launched recently. The audiences are in awe after watching some of the scenes from the film as the trailer showcased some never seen before kind of visuals in it. The trailer is a big hit and has garnered good number of views on YouTube.

Georgettan's Pooram's Official Trailer Is Out

After a brief break, Dileep is all set to entertain his audiences with his upcoming film Georgettan's Pooram. The trailer of the film got released recently, and it has raised the expectations on the movie. Dileep will be heard speaking in Thrissur slang in this upcoming entertainer.

Dileep All Set To Do A Thriller

Dileep is all set to do a film of a different genre. The actor will join hands with Speed Track fame Jayasurya, for an upcoming film. Reportedly, the film will be in the lines of a thriller with certain comedy elements, as well. The upcoming film is expected to go on floors soon.

Asif Ali And Arun Kumar Aravind To Team Up

Asif Ali has a slew of exciting projects in his kitty. The latest one to add to that list is his upcoming film, which will be directed by Arun Kumar Aravind. Reportedly, the film will be a revenge thriller and have its script written by Ananthapadmanabhan, son of P Padmarajan. Actor Murali Gopy will also essay a pivotal role in this film.

Well, if initial reports are to be believed, the industry has had a good start for the year 2017 with its two major releases of the year doing good business at the box office.

Audiences have lapped up both the movies and we hope that the box office collections of these movies would soar to new heights in the coming days.
