Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, the Mohanlal-Meena starring family entertainer has impressed both the audiences and critics. In a recent interview given to a popular daily, director Jibu Jacob revealed an interesting fact about the movie.

Anniyamma, the role played by Meena in Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol was initially offered to the popular Bollywood actress Vidya Balan. The National award-winning actress was highly impressed with the script and keen to share the screen with Mohanlal.

But, Vidya Balan couldn't sign the project due to the unavailability of the dates. Later, the team decided to rope in Meena for the role of Anniyamma, considering her great onscreen chemistry with Mohanlal, and the pair's popularity among the audiences.

However, director Jibu Jacob was reluctant to cast the actress, as he felt that it could be repetitive if the movie featured the Drishyam pair. However, producer Sophia Paul and writer Sindhuraj later convinced him to cast Meena opposite Mohanlal.

However, Mohanlal and Meena once again created magic on silver screen with their amazing onscreen chemistry. Meena once again proved that she is undoubtedly one of the best leading ladies who has associated with the complete actor.

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, on the other hand, is performing extremely well at the box office and has already been declared as a blockbuster. The movie will soon be remade in Telugu, with actor Venkatesh reprising Mohanlal's role.
