The last week of February was indeed a pleasant one for the Malayalam film industry, as far as the number of releases are concerned.
Two Malayalam movies made it to the theatres in the form of Vineeth Sreenivasan starrer Aby and Jayaraj's magnum opus Veeram, featuring Kunal Kapoor in the lead role. Both the movies, which hit the theatres on consecutive days have been receiving favourable reviews. The opening was also decent for these movies.

Prithviraj's Strong Statement Against Misogyny
Prithviraj did impress one and all with a strong statement. The actor apologised for promoting misogonystic elements is some of his past movies. In a long and inspiring Facebook post, the actor also made it clear that he won't allow celebrating misogyny in his films anymore.
Prithviraj And Bhavana Join Adam
The shoot of Prithviraj's upcoming film Adam, directed by debutant Jinu Abraham has commenced in Kochi. Actress Bhavana, who will be seen essaying an important role in the film has also joined the sets of the movie.
Mohanlal And Joshiy To Team Up Soon
If reports are to be believed, Mohanlal and Joshiy, one of the most loved actor-director pairs of Mollywood, would soon team up for an upcoming big budget venture. According to the reports, the film will be scripted by Udaykrishna and the movie will be bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakupadom, who had produced the blockbuster film Pulimurugan.
Fahadh Faasil And Mamtha Mohandas To Team Up
Popular actress Mamtha Mohandas is all set to pair up with Fahadh Faasil, in cinematographer-turned-director Venu's next venture. Reportedly, the film which has been titled as Carbon, will be a movie in the lines of a thriller.
An Update On Dulquer Salmaan's Solo
Solo, is an upcoming film of Dulquer Salmaan, directed by popular Bollywood film-maker Bejoy Nambiar. Reportedly, the upcoming film will be an anthology and narrate 5 different stories. Interestingly, Dulquer Salmaan will do the lead role in each one of them.
Durga Krishna To Debut With Vimaanam
Vimaanam, the upcoming Prithviraj starrer directed by Pradeep M nair, will introduce a new face to Mollywood. Reportedly, the film will feature a newcomer named Durga Krishna as the leading lady of the film. The actress will be seen essaying Prithviraj's love interest in the movie.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj starrer Ezra is continuing its amazing run at the box office. It has been two weeks since the release of the movie, but it is still attracting crowds to the theatres.
The coming week will witness the release of two important movies. Tovino thomas starrer Oru Mexican Aparatha is the big release of this week. Apart from that Lijo Jose Pellissery's Angamali Diaries, which features a group of newcomers in the lead roles will make it to the theatres on March 3, 2017.
