Mammootty starrer Puthan Panam, which was one of the most awaited movies of this season, didn't really make the necessary impact at the box office.
The film, directed by Ranjith opened to below average reviews, which denied the chance of the Mammootty starrer to make it big at the box office during the vacation season.
According to certain reports, Puthan Panam, which completed its 25 days of run in the theatres recently, has managed to fetch around 8.3 Crores at the Kerala box office.
The box office collection of Puthan Panam is decent considering the expremely negative reviews that the film received upon its release.
Disappointingly, Mammootty who gave a big hit in the form of The Great Father, couldn't continue the success streak with Puthan Panam.
Meanwhile, Puthan Panam, which hit the theatres on April 12, 2017 was also affected by the flurry of other releases like Sakhavu, Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, CIA - Comrade In America etc.
Puthan Panam Release
Mammootty starrer Puthan Panam had a decent release, with the movie releasing in close to 130 theatres in Kerala. The film was released in the rest of the parts of India on April 14, 2017.
A Decent Opening
The film had a decent opening with the Mammootty starrer fetching close to 1.80 Croes on its opening day. the opening was a good one considering the fact that the film was released on a Wednesday.
Slowed Down Later On
The film that received below average reviews slowed down considerably. Reportedly, the film made a gross collection of above 6 Crores from its first 10 days of run.
Kochi Multiplexes Collection
Puthan Panam had a good start at the Kochi multiplexes, with the film registering decent collections on Day 1. But, the film had a considerable drop in collection and after 14 days, the film managed to fetch 33 Lakhs from the Kochi multiplexes.
At the same time, the audiences and critics praised the performance of Mammootty in Puthan Panam. The actor was heard using the Kasargode dialect in Puthan Panam.
