The Christmas special Malayalam movies are rescheduled to release in January and February. That is the reason behind the decision to postpone the releases of The Great Father and Poomaram.

All the Christmas movies, including Dulquer Salmaan's Jomonte Suviseshangal, Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Prithviraj's Ezra, and Jayasurya's Fukri have been cancelled due to the theatre strike.

If things fall in place, all the four Christmas films will hit the theatres by the last week of January and the first week of February. The theatre strike is expected to end by the second week of January.
