Pinneyum, the Dileep-Kavya Madhavan starring Adoor Gopalakrishnan movie was one of the top entries into the Kerala State Film Awards 2016. But surprisingly, Pinneyum totally failed to impress the State Award jury and failed to bag any award.

In a recent interview, the jury members revealed why the Dileep-Kavya movie was sidelined at the State Film Awards 2016. The jury remarked that, Pinneyum terribly fails to create an impact in any aspect, despite being an Adoor Gopalakrishnan film.

The jury members also denied considering Kavya Madhavan for the Best Actress award and clarified that the actress had failed to enter the final list of contestants. Reportedly, Pinneyum was not even considered for any of the categories.

According to the jury members, Pinneyum is the most disappointing work of master craftsman Adoor Gopalakrishnan, who is well-known for his making style. They feel that the movie is not eligible to be considered for the awards.

However, jury's decision hasn't gone well with the die-hard fans of Adoor Gopalakrishnan films, Dileep, and Kavya Madhavan. The award results came out as a huge shock for the fans, who were awaiting Kavya to win the Best Actress trophy.

Pinneyum, which dealt with the complex relationship of a middle-class couple, Purushothaman Nair and Devi, had received mixed reviews from the critics. The Adoor Gopalakrishnan movie failed to create an impact at the box office as well.
