Unlike the previous Onam season, this year's festival season didn't have many big celebrations, as many parts of the state were affected by the floods and the entire state joined hands to help the affected ones and aid in their speedy recovery. Meanwhile, the Onam season didn't witness any big releases as well with the Malayalam movies scheduled as Onam releases getting pushed ahead to another dates. At the same time, some of the Malayalam movies, which had hit the theatres during the previous weeks, went on to continue their run in some of the major centres. Abrahaminte Santhathikal and Koode were the prominent ones among them with the audiences visiting the theatres to watch these movies during the Onam season. Read on to know more about the same.
Koode had originally hit the theatres on July 14, 2018. The movie, which opened to extremely good reviews in the theatres, is still continuing its run in major centres. Going by the reports that have been doing the rounds, the audiences preferred this movie the most during the Onam season.
At The Kochi Multiplexes
According to a report by Forum Keralam, Koode had a decent run in the previous weekend. On Saturday, the film fetched approximately 1.76 Lakhs from 8 shows and on Sunday, the movie went on to fetch 2.19 Lakhs from the same number of shows. These were indeed decent numbers.
The Third Best
At the same time, the report by Forum Keralam suggested that, Koode, which has fetched 1.24 Crores so far from the Kochi multiplexes, has now emerged as the third best grosser among the Malayalam movies released in this year so far at the Kochi multiplexes.
Meanwhile, Abrahaminte Santhathikal, which is nearing 85 days of its run in the theatres, is still continuing its run in some of the major centres of the state. The movie had earlier emerged as the second top grosser of Mollywood.
In Various Centres
At the Kochi multiplexes, the film had 1 show/day during the Onam weekend. Reportedly, the advance booking for the film was on the positive side. At the same time, the film has reportedly done a decent business in the single screens as well during the Onam weekend.
