Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela
Njandukaluda Naattil Oridavela, the film directed by Althaf Salim and featauring Nivin Pauly in the lead role, was definitely the show-stealer of the season. The movie, which narrated the tale of a cancer patient and her family members, was in fact a different take with some light comedies and positivity spread over. The performance of all the actors were top points of the movie and what the audiences got was a perfect family movie that came with a positive message.
Adam Joan, directed by Jinu Abraham and featuring Prithviraj in the lead role took the audiences for a thriller of a ride, laced with the right amount of emotions. The story of the film was set in the backdrop of Scotland and the film indeed had a fresh treatment with some top notch performances. The film had a fine run in the majority of the centres.
Velipadinte Pusthakam, directed by Lal Jose and featuring Mohanlal in the lead role was indeed the much awaited film of the season. In fact, the movie was the first among the Malayalam movies to hit the theatres during the Onam season 2017. It is a fact that the movie didn't meet the expectations bestowed on it with the film receiving mixed reviews from the critics. The movie turned out to be a routine affair with nothing special or big to offer. However, going by the trade reports, the film went on to have a decent run in the theatres across the state.
